Kathleen grew up in Wisconsin and attended Harvard University.
In addition to her critically acclaimed book, SLENDERMAN, she is the author of two Young Adult murder mystery novels (No One Else Can Have You and its sequel, Nothing Bad is Going to Happen), and one essay collection (Kathleen Hale is a Crazy Stalker).
For many years, Hale was a full-time journalist, writing for outlets such as Elle Magazine, Vice Magazine, and the Guardian, among others.
She now works in television and occasionally covers crimes for Vanity Fair. Her favorite authors are Shirley Jackson and Ann Rule.
